Amnesia: Memories

I finally got myself to finish Amnesia: Memories, and get the Platinum. It's not that much of an accomplishment - but I didn't enjoy certain aspects of the game, so I'm glad to be done with it!

I ended up using a guide to complete all routes, but I did do a blind run of each first. I admit I didn't look for one, but I kind of wished for a guide that had less "spoilers". So, here's one!

Save at the beginning of each day listed. In some cases, you will be able to avoid a bad end.
If you end up wanting a more specific guide, please feel free to use the one linked above. Just be warned that you'll end up with minor spoilers in doing so. Because of this, it's recommended to play through each character once without a guide.

Crimson Shroud

I've been playing a bunch of games randomly, but making no real progress. That finally changed when I decided to restart Crimson Shroud.

I'm not really sure what to say about this game.

It consists of four chapters, the last being very short. Ultimately, what will decide the time spent on this game is one specific part in chapter 2. It may also decide if you bother continuing the game.

If you are reading this, and have played the game, you will likely realize what I'm referring to - the Obsidian Daphne. This item is a random drop, and there's no real hint as to... well, anything. Needing it, how to get it, etc. The above link mentions a comment from one of the characters being a hint, but I don't really agree. In short, it's complete bullshit.

Now, I am writing this for my own memories (in case I decide to play again), but also for anyone who may come across this while looking for help.
Essentially, one needs to grind the Gerseym Waterway area. I read a few posts on GameFAQs on how to obtain the Daphne, but here is what worked best for me.
What you need is to get the drop from a Mage. To get the Mage to spawn, kill Archer A. Most I've read suggest you then kill the Skeleton to spawn a Knight next. I don't think any of that matters. I think you need to just spawn the Mage, and make sure to kill it last. This worked for me two times.

Aside from, or perhaps because of, the bullshit in chapter 2, I found the game quite easy. It took me just under 10 hours to finish, but I can only assume too much of that was spent in the damn Waterway.
There are apparently two endings, but I don't care enough to get the second one. Maybe eventually, when I'm less bitter about the Daphne.
